US: Ted Cruz is losing to Colin Allred in the U.S. Senate race for the first time: New Poll
US: According to recent polls, Ted Cruz is behind Colin Allred in the U.S. Senate campaign for the first time.
In a Morning Consult poll of 2,716 potential voters, conducted from September 9 to September 18, Allred led Cruz by one percentage point, with 45 percent to his 44 percent. His advantage was within the +/-2 percentage point margin of error for the survey.
In prior surveys, Cruz, the sitting senator from Texas, has consistently outperformed his rival.

The Cook Political Report continues to label the Texas Senate race as a probable Republican seat, despite Allred’s slim advantage.
In the last Morning Consult survey of 2,940 likely voters, Cruz led Allred by 5 points, with 47 percent to 42 percent. The survey was carried out from August 30 to September 8.
Meanwhile, among 1,200 registered voters, Cruz led by 8 points in a survey done by YouGov and the University of Texas between August 23 and August 31.
Cruz was 10 points ahead in another ActiVote survey, which was conducted among 400 potential voters between August 13 and August 29. Cruz seems to have a smaller lead—between two and four points—according to other polls.
Cruz leads on average by six points, according to RealClearPolitics’ polling tracker.
Since 1990, Texas has chosen a Republican to represent them in the Senate.
With 214,921 less votes than Beto O’Rourke received in 2018, Cruz came out on top of the more than 8.3 million ballots.
However, given how close the polls have been thus far in this race, several Republicans remain concerned.

Cruz, however, took a hit on Monday when it was revealed to voters by former Republican Representative Liz Cheney that she had traveled to Dallas in order to back Allred.
“I have 20 years of experience with Ted Cruz. And it’s been evident—nobody believes that Ted Cruz is a guy of tremendous dignity, according to everyone who knows him—I’m sure the majority of you in this room do. “added Cheney.
Ted Cruz is manifestly unsuited for president based on his actions after the 2020 election. Ted Cruz put forth a plan to reject many of those votes, effectively rejecting the votes of millions of Americans, knowing that it was unconstitutional, that Joe Biden had won, that the election had been certified in each of our states, and that a legitimate slate of electors existed.
These actions would have resulted in the election being overturned. She went on, referencing Cruz’s attempts to promote Trump’s illogical accusations that the 2020 election was rigged against the previous president. “And he did that to please Donald Trump,” she said.
“These jobs really matter, and in this race, I want to do everything I can to help ensure that the people of Texas elect Collin Allred,” Cheney said. Additionally, Cheney supports Kamala Harris for president.
The Texas Democratic Party’s executive director, Monique Alcala, recently said to The Hill that “enthusiasm is high” among Democrats in the state supporting Allred.
