US: Donald Trump reveals his one “regret” about the only debate

US: Regarding his first and maybe last discussion with Vice President Kamala Harris, former President Donald Trump has disclosed his one “regret.”.

Just hours after hosting a jam-packed Long Island campaign event on Wednesday, Trump said on Fox News’s Gutfeld that he was “the GOAT” of the presidential debates and that the moderators of ABC News had “unfairly” handled him by fact-checking his out-of-date claims.

In debates, they declared, “I’m the GOAT,” according to Trump. “The term GOAT stands for “best of all time.” As I left the stage, I believed I had won the discussion. And the anchor handled me so unjustly. Those folks no longer have my support.”

“They attacked me for everything, even crimes… After stating that “crime is rampant, he said crime is down,” the former president went on to assert that he was “right” and that crime had increased since leaving office.

After that, Trump said that everyone had agreed that Harris had just used “word salad” at the debate on September 10 and that “the fake news said, oh, she did well.”

The former president continued by saying that his “only regret” was not being more “elegant” during the discussion and that he ought to have criticized the moderators more.

“I think my only regret is that I wanted to be elegant, and I didn’t want to go after the anchors,” said Trump. “I wish I did, in a way.”

The Harris team has requested another debate, but Trump has said he would not participate since he feels he “won” the first round and has no need to face Harris again.

Citing positive but easily manipulated informal polls from conservative media sources and social media, Trump claimed that “every single poll” proved he had won the discussion.

But according to statistical surveys, the vast majority of Americans think Harris did better than Trump during the debate.

On the eve of the debate, 63 percent of viewers believed Harris had won, while 37 percent chose Trump. This information came from a CNN flash poll. People believed the vice president won by a margin of more than two to one, with 56% to 25%, according to an Angus Reid Global survey taken in the days after the debate.

Numerous polls performed since then support this theory. For example, a poll published on Wednesday by The Economist/YouGov revealed that 56% of respondents said Harris prevailed in the debate, while 27% claimed Trump did. According to the survey, Americans felt that throughout the discussion, Harris was more honest than Trump.

Almost every poll taken after the debate has shown Harris pulling ahead of Trump in the presidential race, which is one of the many signs that imply the majority of people believe Harris won the debate.

As of Wednesday night, the vice president was up 2 points according to an average of RealClearPolitics surveys, while Harris was ahead of Trump by 3.3 points according to a FiveThirtyEight average of national polls.
