The full transcript of Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent 60 Minutes interview will be released to the public
In the interview, which took place on Monday, Harris spoke with CBS journalist Bill Whitaker about her ideas for the economy, gun control laws, and her views on foreign policy with regard to the Middle East and Ukraine. There were many edits made to the interview.
In response to the interview, Trump posted the following on the social media platform Truth Social: “Many of the people who saw the 60 Minutes interview with Comrade Kamala Harris thought it was the worst interview they had ever seen.
“She really had no idea what she was talking about, and the fact that a major party candidate could be so utterly clueless was a disgrace to our nation. Furthermore, it is being examined that her incompetence in “helping” people during Hurricane Helene’s damage ranks as the worst in American history—even worse than Katrina, if that is conceivable.”
A Trump campaign spokesman demanded the release of the whole transcript of the interview the day after it, claiming that the public version had been “deceptively edited.”.
“On Sunday, 60 Minutes teased Kamala’s highly anticipated sit-down interview with this epic word salad that received significant criticism on social media,” Trump Campaign Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the New York Post.
“The word salad was purposefully manipulated throughout Monday night’s whole conversation to minimize Kamala’s foolish reaction. What other content did 60 Minutes decide not to run, and why did they decide not to air Kamala’s whole word salad?
“The whole, undeleted transcript of Kamala’s in-person interview is due to the American people. We demand that CBS and 60 Minutes air it. What are they hiding, along with Kamala?
In a follow-up to his agreement to a sit-down interview, CBS journalist Scott Pelley said that Donald Trump had backed out. Trump declined to participate in an interview with CBS. According to the Trump team, there was no firm plan to appear on 60 Minutes.
Newsweek emailed the campaigns of Harris and Trump to inquire about the circumstances, in addition to reaching out to CBS News.
