When asked whether Trump is a “good candidate,” Nikki Haley receives criticism
In the preview video for Haley’s interview, which debuted on Friday, presenter Margaret Brennan questioned the former governor of South Carolina about Trump’s news conference on Friday, in which he criticized his supporters for the decision in two cases that journalist E. Jean Carroll had filed against him.
Despite his denial of knowing Carroll, the lawsuits held him guilty for slander and sexual assault, with damages reaching $88 million.
Haley continues to believe that Trump is unworthy
Haley made it clear that policy is her main concern and emphasized, saying, “I’ve always said that I wouldn’t run for president if I thought Biden or Trump were great candidates.” She went on to say that she entered the contest because she believed she “could do a better job.”
“I think he is the Republican nominee,” the former UN ambassador said in response to a question about whether she thinks Trump is a “good candidate.” Put him up against the Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, and I don’t see it as a question. But she did say that she didn’t appreciate his communication manner, method, or style.
Haley, Trump’s last rival in the 2024 Republican primary, told Brennan she is “on standby” but hasn’t been asked to participate in his campaign.
She also said that in June, she had a conversation with the previous president. Haley said that Trump is aware of her readiness to assist him in the future.
After the interview tape was made public, Haley faced criticism. “This mistake will come back to bother her later in her “career,” a user named X remarked. demonstrates a lack of sound judgment.
“What a letdown!” said someone another.
Haley is “a very capable person,” according to Trump, who told reporters in May that he is certain “she’s going to be on our team in some form.”
On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. ET, Brennan’s interview with GOP leader Haley will air.
