Nancy Pelosi was heckled for over a minute while speaking about her new book
US: During an October engagement in New York, Nancy Pelosi was heckled for more than a minute while discussing her new book. Pelosi said she was inspired to write “The Art of Power” by “setting the record straight on four things, two domestic and two foreign,” in an interview with moderator Katie Couric. Her “grave disagreement” with President George W. Bush about the Iraq war was one of them.
One heckler cut Pelosi off in mid-sentence by yelling, “Nancy Although you do not disagree, I’m delighted you did not support the Iraqi war. The crowd’s jeers then overpowered the heckler’s words. The heckler then said, “Children are dying in Gaza.”
Pelosi responded to the heckler by saying “thank you” and waving the throng away. “Don’t worry about that; I’m from San Francisco; I’m used to this,” she said. “They’ll get what they want, because all the press will say that I got interrupted.”
“Let us bow our heads for the hostages and be prayerful about the hostages, which they never mention,” Pelosi said, alluding to the October 7 Hamas assault on Israel.
Democrats came under fire over President Joe Biden’s stance toward Israel and the Gaza War in the months before the November presidential election.
The problem disrupted Pelosi’s and other prominent Democrats’ remarks, including that of Vice President Kamala Harris.
