Steve Manning, a close friend and former Jackson family manager, confirmed to “ET” that he passed away on Sunday, the day the news was initially released. Siggy Jackson, Tito’s nephew, confirmed his death to “People.”

Tito, one-fifth of the Jackson 5, subsequently The Jacksons, became a Motown smash with brothers Jackie, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael Jackson. Under the strict direction of father Joe Jackson, the brothers crooned and danced their way into the hearts of America with the help of their four consecutive Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles, “I Want You Back,” “ABC,” “The Love You Save,” and “I’ll Be There.” These hits helped lay the groundwork for what became known as Jacksonmania.

As a member of the Jackson 5, Jackson was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. He also had three Grammy nominations for best R&B performance by a duet or group and best contemporary vocal performance by a duo or group throughout his career. As a group and as individuals, the group became well-known after releasing 16 studio albums—10 as the Jackson 5 and 6 as The Jacksons. The Jacksons rose to fame as a groundbreaking boy band that dominated the charts and had widespread cultural popularity, particularly in Black families throughout the nation.

Jackson has started a solo career, putting out the albums “Under Your Spell” in 2021 and “Tito Time” in 2016. As recently as last year, he collaborated with Brazilian artist Natalia Damini on the song “Attitude” and the music video that went with it.

Jackson was the third of ten children—including his brothers and bandmates, Randy, Rebbie, La Toya, Faloola Tika, and Janet Jackson—and was reared in Gary, Indiana. The Jacksons’ 1989 album and lead song, “The Jacksons,” were named after the 672-square-foot, two-bedroom cottage that Joe and Katherine Jackson moved into at 2300 Jackson St. in January 1950.

The Jackson brothers’ fame began to wane, and as a result, Jermaine and Michael Jackson left the group to pursue independent careers.

Michael Jackson rose to prominence in the music industry and was dubbed the King of Pop for his contributions to the music industry and beyond. The world was startled by Jackson’s death on June 25, 2009, at the age of 50, after an accidental drug overdose at home in Los Angeles; nevertheless, many abuse claims during his career and after his death have damaged his reputation.

During the summer, Tito Jackson grieved for his brother Michael, who passed away earlier this year, on his 15th anniversary. With the hashtags “#15yearswithoutmichaeljackson #gonetoosoon #alwaysinourhearts #MJ4ever #missyoumuch #nowords,” Tito Jackson posted a monochromatic photo of his younger brother.

Jackson, together with his brothers Jackie and Marlon, paid homage to Michael Jackson in Munich four days before his untimely death, after a joint performance.

Tito Jackson posted a picture of the brothers at the memorial site, draped in flowers and adorned with images of Michael Jackson, on Instagram with the caption, “We’re deeply grateful for this special place that honors not only his memory but also our shared legacy.” “Thank you for keeping his spirit alive.”

The Jacksons, Tito, Jackie, and Marlon, have been touring. Their next shows are set for October 25 in Atlantic City, New Jersey, and November 1 in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The boys Tito Jackson had with his late ex-wife Delores Martes, Taj, Taryll, and TJ, are his only surviving children.
