Ceasefire now in effect between Iran and Israel, Donald Trump says “Please don’t violate it!”
Washington: After a fatal Iranian missile assault on Israel cast doubt on the truce’s effectiveness, U.S. President Donald Trump said that a ceasefire between Iran and Israel had officially started and urged its observance.
NOW THE CEASEFIRE IS ACTIVE. DO NOT VIOLATE IT, PLEASE! He wrote in all capitals, “DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES!” on Truth Social.

After the United States joined attacks on Iran’s nuclear program, the truce might prevent the confrontation between Israel and Iran from becoming worse and engulfing the rest of the Middle East and perhaps other world countries.
According to Iranian and Israeli media, Iran launched a volley of missiles toward Israel about the moment Trump said a truce was about to go into effect.
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi wrote on X, “The military operations of our powerful Armed Forces to punish Israel for its aggression continued until the very last minute, at 4am.”
According to Israeli media, a direct missile attack on a Beer Sheva apartment block claimed the lives of at least four individuals, while many were trapped under the debris.
Israel’s website, Ynet, said, “Firing from Iran even after Trump’s ceasefire began.”
Trump made the announcement of the ceasefire more than a week after Israel attacked Iran’s military and nuclear program, to which Iran responded with a volley of drones and ballistic missiles.
Iran retaliated on Monday by shooting missiles toward a U.S. facility in Qatar after the United States joined Israel in the conflict over the weekend by striking three Iranian nuclear facilities. U.S. and Qatari authorities said no one was hurt.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, said, “Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces, who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood and who responded to any attack by the enemy until the very last minute.”
Eylon Levy, a former spokesperson for the Israeli government, said, X: “President @realDonaldTrump, the Iranians are fooling you. Even after you declared a truce, they continue to launch missiles toward Israeli residences. You are being disrespected by the government. America is being disrespected by it.
Whether the truce has taken hold will probably be revealed in the next several hours. If true, it may make it possible for the United States and Iran to resume discussions over a nuclear program that Iran claims has purely civilian purposes but that the United States claims is intended to produce nuclear weapons. There are various more obstacles in the way of achieving a more comprehensive peace in the Middle East and its many conflicts.
