US: Kamala Harris’ Oprah interview mocked by many MAGA people

US: Vice President Kamala Harris has been made fun of by many MAGA leaders for the answers she provided in her Michigan interview with Oprah Winfrey. At a Unite for America event on Thursday, the Democratic presidential contender and talk-show veteran had a sit-down with a number of celebrities, including Chris Rock, Jennifer Lopez, and Meryl Streep, who have all backed Harris.

A variety of important 2024 issues, including immigration, gun violence, and abortion rights, were covered by the vice president in the 90-minute livestreamed conversation, which also allowed Harris to field questions from the public.

Many fans of Donald Trump have made fun of Harris for her sometimes long replies at the event in the crucial swing state, calling the vice president’s remarks a “word salad.”

A lot of people also praised Harris and the event, which included remarks from proponent of abortion rights Hadley Duvall, who was raped as a youngster by her stepfather. Duvall most recently appeared in a Harris campaign commercial.

The mother of Georgia lady Amber Nicole Thurman, who passed away in August 2022 from lack of access to prompt medical treatment due to state prohibitions on abortion, was also welcomed by Harris and Winfrey. According to an official governmental commission, her death was “preventable.”

Harris said to Winfrey in the interview that Americans are “optimistic people,” adding that “Americans are people who have dreams, ambitions, and aspirations, by character.” We have faith in the potential. We are willing to battle for what we feel is possible.

“That’s how we came into being because the people before us understood that one of the greatest expressions for the love of our country—one of the greatest expressions of patriotism—is to fight for the ideals of who we are, which includes freedom to make decisions about your own body; freedom to be safe from gun violence; freedom to have access to the ballot box; freedom to be who you are and just be; to love who you love openly and with pride; freedom to just be.”

Senator Eric Schmitt of Missouri shared a video of Harris’s remarks on X, the former Twitter, saying: “Kamala’s excellent adventure continues.” A magnificent word salad.

“At this point, the media really ought to be ashamed of itself. All we get from her while she runs for president of the United States of America is canned remarks or nonsequiturs with Oprah.”

Internet star Paul A. Szypula said to his 236,000 X followers: “Kamala Harris’s political career may be at its lowest point ever in the world.”

“You could sense Oprah’s desire for her to quit the whole time. The crowd seemed to be becoming aware of Kamala’s absence. She is unable to repeat one of them due to her campaign.”

A question on Harris’s plans to reintroduce the border security measure that Congress had previously vetoed was posed by an audience member during the event.

Harris stated: “I’ve always centered my work and career around saying, ‘Let’s fix problems.'” We know we have the ability to meet the demands, so let’s do that.”

Harris was then asked directly whether she would resubmit the measure by Winfrey, to which the vice president responded, “Absolutely.” And if I’m elected US president, I’ll see to it that the measure reaches my desk so I can sign it into law.”

Director of the documentary 2,000 Mules and 2020 election denier Dinesh D’Souza said on X: “The candidate vying for the nation’s most powerful job can’t respond to a question without Oprah standing next to her to step in.” This is absurd.

With its 3 million followers, the well-known conservative X account End Wokeness said, “Oprah steps in after Kamala Harris fails to say what she’d do for the border.”

At another point during the discussion, Harris casually mentioned that she had a pistol to Winfrey.

Harris said, “If someone breaks into my house, they’re getting shot,” and then laughed, “I probably shouldn’t have said that.” However, things will be handled later by my staff.”

With almost 547,000 followers on X, social media user Joey Mannarino, a Trump supporter, said, “Nothing about this woman is presidential.”

Among those who commended Harris for her performance was David Rothkopf, the CEO and chief editor of the DSR Network and a former top official in President Bill Clinton’s administration. Rothkopf termed Harris’s performance “extraordinary.”

It’s sentimental. It is so touching. It is a person. Politics is not the issue; people are. Rothkopf stated, “And the Vice President is the reason it is possible.”

“We talk about her joy, intellect, and strength,” he said. Discuss her heart.
