Former President Barack Obama reacts to Joe Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis
US: Following his diagnosis of prostate cancer, former President Joe Biden received well wishes from former President Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle Obama.

Biden’s office said on Sunday that the Democrat “was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms” and that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive type of prostate cancer.

On the Gleason score, which compares the appearance of malignant cells to normal cells on a scale of 1 to 10, Biden’s office said that his cancer score was 9. A score of nine indicates that his cancer is one of the most aggressive.
Although his staff acknowledged that the disease had gone to the bone, they also noted that it seemed to be hormone-sensitive, allowing for efficient treatment. Together with his doctors, the President and his family are going over their choices for treatment.
Obama, Biden’s predecessor, said on X amid a swarm of well-wishers, “Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family.”
“Joe has done more than anybody else to develop ground-breaking therapies for cancer in all of its forms, and I have no doubt that he will meet this challenge with his characteristic poise and commitment. We hope for a speedy and complete recovery.
